American Tower Senior Financial Analyst, FP%26A in Woburn, Massachusetts

SUMMARY:

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for a variety of functions, including but not limited to financial modeling, impairment testing, financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting. The incumbent will be responsible for obtaining and communicating information that is accounting, financial and operational in nature, analyzing the information, and preparing various reporting packages and summaries of results to be used at all levels of the organization. The incumbent will also support senior management by providing ad hoc analysis to support key business decision making. The incumbent must be flexible as to hours during busy periods and to ensure project deadlines are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support preparation of financial and operational reports for distribution to senior and operational management.

  • Provide technical and analytical expertise when responding to complex, specialized report requests requiring higher-level data analyses and data management experience.

  • Prepare analyses to be used by FP&A Managers in financial reviews with assigned business leaders in support of annual budget and forecast processes.

  • Conduct lookback analyses on certain acquisitions to support strategic corporate development initiatives.

  • Prepare and review securitized asset reporting with regional Chief Financial Officer to maintain indenture compliance.

  • Assist Financial Planning & Analysis ("FP&A") team with meeting cyclical and ad hoc deadlines for projects by building models, analyzing data, and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual results, budget, and forecasts.

  • Assist FP&A Managers and Senior Managers in preparing analysis, commentary and presentation material for quarterly executive and operational review meetings by building models and presentations.

  • Assist with preparation of complex, data intensive accounting analyses utilized for various financial and operational purposes and with supporting the long-range strategic goals.

  • Build and manage accurate financial models, executive-level presentations and databases using MS Excel, PowerPoint, ERP Systems (specifically Oracle R11, R12, Cognos, OBIEE and TM1), and Access

  • Develop business partnerships with appropriate employees.

  • Meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects

  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong Finance skills with a basic to intermediate understanding of GAAP and working knowledge of income statements, balance sheets and statement of cash flows.

  • Able to approve or reject small-sized business cases (< $10m per annum) through analysis of financial and operational information

  • Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results

  • Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment

  • Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external clients and vendors.

  • Self-motivated; able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high quality solutions

  • The incumbent must be flexible as there may be workweeks that require more than 40 hours to ensure the position's expectations and responsibilities are met.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related major required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a business environment in a financial analysis or accounting role required

  • High-level PowerPoint and Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables and complex formulas required

  • Demonstrated success using ERP systems and Oracle experience preferred

  • CFA or CPA candidate preferred

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 10% travel may be required in support of the position's responsibilities.
