American Tower Buyer Specialist II in Woburn, Massachusetts

SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Organization strategically sources quality materials and services at lowest total cost using a supplier management program that leverages best-in-class people, systems and processes. The Buyer Specialist II leads on procurement functions within specific geographic regions, efficiently and accurately producing and maintaining purchase orders and developing key cross-functional relationships with the Field Operations team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create and accurately manage purchase orders accurately in accordance with service level agreements

  • Analyze scopes of work for specific projects to determine appropriate spend category

  • Partner with Field Operations team to provide requisition information and answer purchase order-related questions

  • Complete all administrative functions involved in the purchase order process, including distribution of and receiving on all purchase orders in the system

  • Review and alter existing purchase orders when needed; troubleshoot issues or concerns with existing purchase orders

  • Communicate with the Field Operations team regarding all new purchase orders; establish lead times and order status

  • Run weekly reports on open and aged purchase orders and invoices on hold; work with relevant internal stakeholders for timely resolution of issues

  • Ensure proper set up of all system fields and inputs related to purchase order processing

  • Create and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, with a focus on providing excellent customer service

  • Lead monthly meetings with stakeholders

  • Follow up on outstanding issues, projects and reporting

  • Assist with the requisition process

  • Assist with running reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve results

  • Strong follow-up skills; ability to multi-task, meet timelines and follow up with internal and external customers

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize assignments in a fast paced environment

  • Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external customers and vendors

  • Self-motivated; able to work both independently and on teams

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Management strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in Supply Chain and/or Strategic Sourcing, with a track record of meeting and exceeding assigned goals and objectives, required

  • Wireless telecommunications industry experience, including sourcing or working in the construction or operations functions, preferred

  • Oracle supply chain modules experiences preferred

  • Exposure to accounting principles preferred

ENVIRONMENT:

Approximately 100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 5% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
